County Line Road

There's still snow on the mountains three weeks into June
Kids playing baseball in the park on Sunday afternoon
Just like I used to do
I still recognize the streets and the smell of a summer rain
But I must've brought my heart and memories with me when I moved away
Cause it feels like everything has changed

It used to be that I could see the stars at night from County Line Road
Now there's only shopping malls and street lights and discount stores
I'm not saying it's better or it's worse
This town sure grew up quickly, but I guess that I did first

They still know my name down at the bar on seventh avenue
I used to come here every Tuesday night, but now it's every year or two
Moving on was easy, it's the going back that's hard to do

It used to be that I could see the stars at night from County Line Road
Now there's only shopping malls and street lights and discount stores
I'm not saying it's better or it's worse
This town sure grew up quickly, but I guess that I did first

Twenty years of footprints disappeared, must've melted with the snow
The road down by the schoolyard isn't so familiar anymore
Guess it was more than just the weather, that used to make this feel like home

It used to be that I could see the stars at night from County Line Road
Now there's only shopping malls and street lights and discount stores
I'm not saying it's better or it's worse
This town sure grew up quickly, but I guess that I did first
